This book, along with the vol. 1, present more than 860 objects from one of the world's most comprehensive collections of Roman glass. The catalog entries are arranged by technique. Vol. 2 focuses on objects decorated or inscribed by inflation in a mold, objects decorated with trails or appliqués, medallions and fragments of gold glass, and objects with painted, reverse-painted, painted and gilded, or gilded decoration. Each catalog entry consist of a detailed description, usually accompanied by a comment on the significance of the object and notes on similar pieces in other collections. Every object is illustrated, in most cases by a color photograph and a line drawing. Also include are concordances and an extensive bibliography.Vol. 3, scheduled for publication in 2002, will complete these titles.
