This volume discusses and catalogues examples of Roman-period tumuli which have been recorded and excavated in the province of Pannonia, modern Hungary. Supported throughout by archaeological evidence, the authors discuss aspects of the chronology, distribution and construction of the mounds, associated building stone, grave cysts, sarcophagi, skeletal remains and burial goods, most notably wagons, ceramics, lamps, inscribed gravestones and animal bones. The volume concludes with three case studies.
