Tattenhoe and Westbury. Two Deserted Medieval Settlements in Milton Keynes (Buckings. Arch. Mon., 8), 1995, 505 p., nbr. fig., 56 tabl., 15 pl., 6 plans. -
Décrivant les fouilles effectuées sur deux villages désertés du Moyen Age, cette étude s'intéresse également à la céramique et au reste du mobilier issu de ces gisements; diverses études techniques et analyses spécialisées complètent cette monographie. This volume presents a detailed report on recent excavations of the two deserted medieval settlements of Tattenhoe and Westbury on the outskirts of Milton Keynes Newtown. Large areas of both sites were examined in order to observe the development of the settlements through time and space. Excavation of the two sites is discussed separately, followed by joint discussion of the pottery, coins and other finds. Extensive appendices discuss individual finds, radiocarbon determinations, pollen analysis, human remains, animal bones, and contexts, sub-groups and groups.
